Business Plan Introduction

Introduction

More Business Ideas that work !

Winning Business Plans are not that difficult. Writing them, however, does require some level of creativity, certainly determination, and a large degree of reality.

In the following pages we will discuss some of the key elements of any successful plan. As you peruse the discussion on how to write a business plan, you may wish to ask questions, please feel free to contact us, via our contact form to email us or call us.

The planning process I will outline here, is based on experience, and is one that I am convinced will:

1. Enhance corporate unity,

2. Improve strategic communications, and

3. Ensure plan fulfillment.

This procedure even though it is relatively uncomplicated has proven to be a successful model to build and implement.

* Because it is built from individual input it creates ownership.

* Because it requires the documentation of action steps, assigns responsibility, and identifies time frames for completion, it is easily monitored.

* Because it encourages everyone’s participation it builds unity and a team spirit.

To help you see planning from our perspective we have included the following pages:

Brainstorming Your Plan

1.All successful plans begin with soul searching your business, your people, and your market. If you are leading your company, a division, or a department, an honest and frank brainstorming session will help determine what you need to change, improve or exploit.

You know the strengths and weaknesses of your organization best and so do your people, so involve as many of them as is practical in your brainstorming session. For more click the following link. Business Plan Brainstorming

Achievable Goals and Actions

2. I have a friend who has reminded me often, “that common sense isn’t so common”. He is correct, especially when it comes to writing a business plan, as evidenced by so many failed or partially completed plans. If what you choose to accomplish is not achievable why go through the motions? For more click the following link. Make it Achievable,

Metrics

3. Metrics, was a big buzz word a number of years ago, and in the case of managing your planning efforts I think it is still much in vogue. If you cannot measure it, how can you be sure how high to jump? However, you choose to measure your efforts to improve your establishment is up to you but measure you must. For more click the following link. Metrics,

Customer Focus

4. Whatever strategy you choose to increase your, sales, market share, sales margins, or position in your market, is up to you. Your strategy could be to be the low price supplier, the most efficient supplier, the broadest line supplier, or the best value supplier. ( I like that one!). My experience, however, has convinced me that an excellent strategy is creating a Customer Focus within your company. For more click the following link. Customer Focus,

Create Ownership

5. Your employees, partners, or associates, if they are to play a role in executing your plan of action, must sense a level of reality and believe that the selected actions will benefit them and the organization. The rewards for ownership within your company go well beyond helping simply helping achieve your goals. Please click the following link for more. Ownership,

Reviewing your Progress

6. We stated earlier that carrying out a profitable business strategy takes determination. And it is very necessary that you extend that determination to reviewing your progress, through pre-scheduled regular review points. Most review quarterly which allows for correction along the way. It also provides an opportunity to give atta boys and girls to those who earned it. See more by clicking the next link. Review Process,

Celebrating your Success

7. This is the easiest part and the most enjoyable. Following your quarterly review let everyone know how you are doing, good and bad. The good encourages and the bad can be a motivator, if presented properly.

But the celebration that occurs at the end of the year because of a well executed business plan is nothing compared to the encouragement that comes when you realize that because of your efforts you have established a growing favorable impact on your customers.
